Manaseer Group has signed a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract with the internationally prominent contractor and engineering firm of TechnipFMC France to design an integrated greenfield industrial complex to produce a wide range of specialty water soluble fertilizers in Aqaba, south of Jordan.
Signing on behalf of the Manaseer Group was by Mr. Muin Qadaddah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, accompanied by Mr. Fuad A. Sheikh, General Manager, and Eng. Wael Abu Irmaileh, Group Strategic Business Development Manager, and TechnipFMC’s SVP Business Development Manager Mr. Christophe Virondaud accompanied by his delegation. Both parties were delighted and optimistic for the future upon the signing of the FEED contract leading to the EPC contract (LSTK) as it represents the successful realization of over a year’s efforts by both companies.
This distinctive complex will be one of the largest manufacturing facilities in the world comprising 11 different factories in accordance with European Union emission regulations and environmental impact for an expected cost to reach 1 billion USD with production by year 2022. The technology and machinery for the plant will be of European origin from well-known cutting-edge world suppliers.
The complex will also directly boost the national economy by employing over 1,000 people in the complex directly and over 3,000 people in support capacities. It will strategically utilize the local availability of raw materials, potash and phosphate. The facilities will cover a 1 million m2 area situated in the port city of Aqaba to take advantage of the close proximity to shipping as the majority of production is for export.
These facilities represent part of the 5-year plan of the Manaseer Group to invest over 2.5 billion USD into various sectors in the country.
