Product description

PPC is a premium quality cement. It is made from high quality raw materials; clinker being inter-ground with gypsum and blended or inter-ground with an appropriate amount of extender. Multi Usage Cement is suitable for most general-purpose applications, based on Portland cement clinker. It is produced using sustainable cement technology and a range of formulations with comparable performance.

Applications

Typical applications are high performance concrete for foundations, colums, slabs, precast products, grouts, soil stabilization, mortar, plaster, masonry products, paving and other home applications. PPC is a tried and tested product that has been engineered to achieve a consistent and high performance.

Portland cement clinker is ground to a fine powder and used as the binder in many cement products. Around 5% of gypsum is added. It may also be combined with other active ingredients or chemical admixtures to produce other types of cement including:

•  Ground granulated blast furnace slag cement
•  Pozzolana cement
•  Silica fume cement

Clinker, if stored in dry conditions, can be kept for several months without appreciable loss of quality. Because of this, and because it can easily be handled by ordinary mineral handling equipment, clinker is traded internationally in large quantities. Cement manufacturers purchasing clinker usually grind it as an addition to their own clinker at their cement plants. Manufacturers also ship clinker to grinding plants in areas where cement-making raw materials are not available.
