In 2015 Power plant was established, it produces stable quality electrical energy (constant frequency, stable voltage, required power factor) to MIC consumers. Leading to having its operation starting in 2018
The Manaseer Industrial Complex (MIC) installed a captive power plant (CPP) to supply reliable electricity to its existing cement plant, Carbonate plant, MIC Smart and future loads.
The power plant project is designed to generate of 1x30 MW (net) capacity firing 100 percent coal or 100 percent petcoke or a combination of these fuels. The Project uses Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustor (CFBC) Technology based on Foster Wheeler (FWC) design for efficient firing of fuels to generate superheated steam that is fed to the SIEMENS steam turbine which is the prime mover for the electrical generator.
CFBC has good environmental characteristics and combustion efficiency; Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions are reduced through addition of limestone to the combustion chamber; the CFBC is also equipped with Selective Non-catalytic Reduction (SNCR) type NOx reduction system, both SOx & NOx emissions are below the allowable limits set by the government.
Coal / Petcoke are stored in a designated covered storage area (shed), and an automated fuel handling system (stacker, re-claimer, belt conveyors and crushers) insures reliable fuel feeding to the CFBC boiler.

Power plant is designed for safe and reliable continuous operation and to meet 96% availability.
